Homework for November 27

Hello guys,

Next lesson we'll move on to a new unit, so in this post I am giving you some nice things you can work on to improve you vocabulary or skills.

For example:

- learn more vocab about rooms, restaurants, school and weather.

- read a short article about Italian shoes and wellies (as rain is coming back to Catania). What are wellies? choose 5 new words in each text and make sentemces with them. Don't foget to bring them to class on a separate sheet of paper.

- watch this funny video about jokes :)

That's all for now!

Homework for November 24

Hello everyone,

As most of you already know, the "great" news is that on Modndy we're going to have a ... progress test! Don't worry, it will cover only things we studied in class, that is Unit 1 and 2.
So be good and revise Unit 1 and 2, the vocab, grammar and the exam tasks and you will probably get something similar.

You can practice the quantifiers here and here.

You can practice Listening Part 1 here.

Try to work on the collocations here and here. About collocations, there isn't an easy solution: you must learn them, make sentences with them and try to use them as much as possible in speaking.

That's all for now! Study but don't over-stress :)
Have a nice weekend!

Homework for November 20

Hello everyone!

Today we had a lovely inspected lesson :) and it went great! You did an awesome job! xxx
We did some Speaking Part 4 practice, which we will continue next time as well, and we looked at "used to".

Your homework for next time is:

  •  write 3 sentences about what 3 classmates used to do/like/watch/listen to when they were 6 years old.

  • write 5 sentences about life in the 1920's-1950's in the English villages compared to now. You can refer to people's clothes, streets, the houses, people's jobs/occupations, children, anything that is different compared to now :)

e.g. In the 1920's people used to work the land, but now most people work in offices.

  •  Reading part 1, page 21-22 from your book.

See you on Thursday, guys!
Bye bye

Homework for November 13

Hello my lovely students,

Today we read a text about sweatshops and we studied past continuous. For next time please do exercises 8-9-10-11 from page 62 and, on a separate sheet of paper, write a story about an unusual day at school. Use past continuous. Here's an example:

Last Tuesday was a really strange day. All the people on the street were looking at me! I was walking to school when an old me stopped me and...

Please remember to bring a photo of you when you were very young (like 5-6-7 years old or younger). Ask your parents who took the photo, when it was taken and think about what you were doing in it. Be ready to present it in class.

Have a nice week, lads!
Bye,
S :)

Homework for November 9

Hi everyone,

I can see that the weather forecast scared you off today, so most of you didn't show up to the lesson. Enrico was courageous and came to class! Hurrah! :)

Your homework for Monday is from the book page 142 and for the boys who still didn't receive the books, go to this page. Please read the explanations about Speaking Part 1 and do exercises 1 (page 142), exercises 2 and 4 (page 143).

Now something related to our current news, watch a video about British weather. You will find out how weather forecast is produced. Watch the video and do the tasks below.

Enjoy the rainy weekend and study hard! :)
Bye!
