Homework for April 28

Hello everyone,

and welcome to our weekly meeting on the blog! :-p

Today we worked on relative clauses with who, which and where and we did some reading, we listened to a game, similar to "Tabou" and we also did some speaking.

For next time, your homework is the two worksheets I gave you in class and also a  podcast : Elementary Podcasts Series 01 Episode 1. Listen to the podcast and do the tasks below.
These are some nice audios (podcasts) that you can even listen on your smartphones! There's an application that you can find here:

Have a grrrreat weekend!
See ya!

Homework for April 24

Hello bunnies,

What can this be?
Click on the photo to check! Were you right? :-)

I hope you are doing well. Many of you didn't come to class today... Please do not miss any of our next classes, because we already miss 2 lessons during the Easter Holiday.

Today we learnt expressions for giving directions, we finished with the Speaking Mock, we did some pronunciation practice and we also did a funny Easter Quiz! Yeah!

Your homework for next time is:

- make sentences with the following words/expressions for the listening today:

  • plenty of time (another way to say a lot of time)
  • Oh dear! (when you are worried about something)
  • water all around
  • I'm afraid that... (a polite way to announce that something bad happened)
  • motorway
If you don't know their meaning, go to a dictionary.

- learn how to give directions here (do Preparation first). It's a very important part of the exam and you will also need it when you'll travel on your own in the future.

- do all the tasks on the page below, including the Writing at the bottom of the page. This helps you in the Speaking and Writing part of the exam.

Have a grrrreat Easter holiday!
Silvia

Homework for March 31

Hello my favourite teens,

In our lesson on Thursday we did a lot of speaking practice in using Wh questions and present perfect. We also read some advertisements for part-time jobs for teenagers and we studied present perfect with just and yet.

For next time please finish the worksheet with yet/just and do all exercises from Unit 15.

As on Monday we'll do the Mock test, please revise all Exam Folders in the books (the blue-green pages in between the Units). A good way of improving your reading/listening/writing skills is to do exercises from this page here.

Have a great weekend!
Bye,
S

Homework for March 27

Hello class,

On Monday we looked at different jobs, especially at being a cook (just like the British star Jamie Oliver) and at present perfect in two situations: situations which started in the past but true in the present and recent situations (without a time mentioned).
We covered all exercises from pages 92 and 93.

For homework I gave you two worksheets related to present perfect tense and please also do exercise 15, p. 145.

See you,
Silvia

Homework for March 24

Hi class,

Last time we looked at the differences between I prefer and I'd like (Grammar Extra p. 89).
We talked about how your school is at the moment and how you'd like to change it (Activity p. 89).

We also did some exam practice for Reading Part 3 - p. 90-91 and we played a boardgame using the expressions from everyday conversations. For homework I gave you two worksheets with practice on Reading Part 3.

So we talked a lot about school, subjects and teachers, but can you eat at school? In some English schools, there are dining halls. Have a look what English students have for lunch! Please do the tasks below the text.

Have a grrrreat weekend!

See you on Monday!
